Well as we all know advertising is alpha and omega of everything. So, as soon as we make a blog or a site we need to promote it. My blog for example has no "real" advertising but in a first week there is about 400 visitors! Not bad for a starter.

Tweats - invite people
Warez and other forums (post signature)
Exchange of links with fellow blogger
etc. I called my friend to post my links on their profiles and other places and they agreed so far so good.
Next thing i'll be writing about is design, seo and money making sites.
